Peralta District PTA offers training for unit PTA officers and chairmen several times a year, beginning in June with the main Annual Conference that attracts up to 200 attendees throughout the district. District PTA also offers mini-training several times a year. The dates for these conferences are posted on the district web site at www.peraltadistrictpta.org.
The California State PTA Convention is another opportunity for training held every spring (usually April) alternately in northern and southern California. Convention expenses should be a part of every unit's budget, and officers should take advantage of the opportunity to attend the convention when it is held in Northern California (often Sacramento). Scholarships are offered every year through Peralta District for officers wishing to attend Convention.
The National PTA offers E-Learning courses that include everything from Board Basics to Writing and Proposing PTA Resolutions. Courses in Spanish are being added regularly.
